Surrounded on two sides by the Nelson-Trevino Bottoms State Natural Area and the Tiffany Bottoms State Natural Area, hiking, birding, fishing, and canoeing are all popular activities. The area features an abundance of wildlife and nearly every bird species that makes its home in Wisconsin can be found in the bottoms.
Another prime location for outdoor adventurers is Thrive Park. Open year round for hikers and walkers, the public park features more than 25 acres of hiking roads and trails filled with wildlife and beautiful views of the Mississippi River Valley. After a long day in the outdoors, there are several choices for home-cooking styled meals in Nelson or maybe head out of town on a short drive for wood-fired pizza on a farm.
